How do you use my data?

When you become a member

When you become a member of Lucett®, we will use your personal information to process your membership application and provide you with your membership information and benefits. The details we collect from you when you become a member include your name, email address, phone number and job title.

To complete your membership application, we share your personal information with our subcontractors who are involved in the membership application process, such as payment providers, as well as credit reference agencies who we use to assess fraud, credit and/or security risks.

We need to process your personal information to perform the contract in place between us and to register you as a member and provide the ongoing membership services and benefits to you.

We may also share your personal data with the companies we use to transport pieces to you, who may in turn contact you directly.

When you phone us or use our website chat service

When you phone us or contact us by email with general queries, we may also handle your personal information (your name, contact details and the other details you provide to us) in order to provide the customer services you have asked us to. This could be when you ask us to provide more information about our platform, or explain how our website, platform or service works.

We do this because it’s in our legitimate interest to make sure we can properly respond to your query.

When you have receive our news updates

We will handle your personal information (such as your name, email address, postal address, telephone number and sector preferences) to provide you with news updates and marketing communications in line with any preferences you have told us about.

What about technical information and analytics?

Information we collect about you:

When you visit our site we will automatically collect the following information:

  • Technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, screen resolution, operating system and platform; and

Where is my data stored?

We are based within the EEA however some of our external third parties are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA) so their processing of your personal information will involve a transfer of data outside of the EEA.

Whenever we transfer your personal information outside of the UK and the EU, we ensure it receives additional protection as required by law. To keep this privacy policy as short and easy to understand as possible, we haven’t set out the specific circumstances when each of these protection measures are used. All other information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. We do not store Credit card details on our servers but use service called Stripe. Stripe has been audited by an independent PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) and is certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider. Any payment transactions including card numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate machines. None of Stripe’s internal servers and daemons are able to obtain plaintext card numbers; instead, they can just request that cards be sent to a service provider on a static whitelist. Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in separate hosting infrastructure, and does not share any credentials with Stripe’s primary services (API, website, etc.). Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our Site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers or those of our third party data storage providers.

How long do we retain your data for?

Where you are a registered user of Lucett Limited, we will retain your data for as long as the account is active and you have not asked us to delete it, to ensure that we are able to assist you should you have any questions, feedback or issues in connection with your membership or if any legal issues arise.

Where we have used your personal information to contact you for marketing communications, if you have opted-in we will contact you at least every 2 years to ensure you are happy to continue receiving electronic communications; or

If you tell us that you no longer wish to receive marketing communications from us, we promise to stop sending them to you.

Where we have processed your data for any other reason (such as where you have contacted us with a question in connection with our services or contacted us thorough our web form) we will retain your data for 2 years.

  • access your personal data (also known as a ‘subject access request’);
  • correct incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you;
  • ask us to erase the personal data we hold about you;
