A small tag or card with a lasting purpose.
Each RFID tag or card carries a unique identifier that links to the asset’s record in Lucett.
The tag contains no asset details or owner information. It is placed in an unobtrusive area of the asset, where it is intended to stay throughout its life.
For assets that cannot have a tag attached, Lucett provides an RFID card displaying basic information about the asset, including a photograph. The card contains no owner information. It travels with the asset when it moves and can be kept safely at home while you enjoy your asset.
Both use passive RFID technology, with no battery, and respond when read by a compatible scanner.
Packaging is identified separately using QR-code labels. The asset keeps its own identity as its packaging changes.
Access requires authorisation.
Only approved transporters authorised to access an asset can retrieve its details through Lucett. Having a valid Lucett company account does not grant access to every asset on the network.
Scanning a tag identifies the asset. It does not override the permissions protecting its information.
Asset owners can revoke access at any time, keeping control over who can view their asset information.
Scan the asset. Connect the work.
A scan identifies the asset so the handling team can work with the correct record and connect it to an operation, such as a collection, warehouse receipt, delivery or condition report.
The scan records when and where it took place. The team can then document the work being carried out: take condition photographs, note existing damage, record the number of components, describe packing, record handling instructions and attach the relevant operational documents.
Those details stay connected to the asset and the operation, giving the office and handling team a record of the work performed.
What becomes part of the record?
As work is recorded in Lucett, the asset’s history can bring together:
- Its description, dimensions and identifying photographs.
- Collections, deliveries and warehouse movements.
- Scan dates, times and recorded locations.
- The people and companies responsible at each stage.
- Condition photographs and reports.
- Packing details, handling instructions and operational notes.
- Supporting documents.
Asset owners see the combined record across the transporters involved. Each transporter sees only the information it has added to that record.
Know what is where.
Your Portfolio brings your assets together across your homes, storage locations and moves. See which assets are in each home, which are in storage and which are in transit. An asset at home simply remains part of your inventory.
You can sort your assets by age, value, artist or location, making it easier to explore your collection, find what you need or select an asset to request a move somewhere else.
Lucett shows the last recorded location. The tag does not continuously transmit its position; updates come from recorded scans and operations.
Check condition along the way.
Teams can photograph and document an asset’s condition at collection, delivery and other handling stages.
Keeping those reports with the asset’s record allows owners to review condition information across its history. Each transporter retains access to the reports it has contributed.
Add the documents that matter to you.
Owners can upload private documents directly to an asset’s record through their Portfolio. Purchase invoices, exhibition publications and other supporting material can sit alongside the asset’s operational history.
These private documents are not shared with transporters simply because they handle the asset.
A change of owner does not have to mean a lost history.
When an asset is sold, its history can be transferred to the new owner. The current owner chooses which documents are included in that transfer, preserving useful history while retaining control over private information.
Different transporters. One combined record for the owner.
When another authorised Lucett transporter handles the asset, its existing identity connects their work to the same asset. Each transporter contributes its own records without gaining access to another transporter’s entries.
For the owner, those contributions come together in one Portfolio.
Your transporters see what they need to see. You see everything.
